As a Senior Backend Developer Python (m/f/d) you will work in our cross-functional team on the development of professional web applications in our online store and our operation service.
  
As part of the Siegwerk Group, you will build on the stable foundation of a global player with 200 years of packaging expertise.
Your Challenges
  • You have the opportunity to help us form a reliable and stable data platform and event driven micro service 
    architecture. We <3 python and rely on modern and robust tools (FastAPI, dbt, EdgeDB) to help us in our endeavor.
  • We developed the world’s only Artwork Service, which performs technical and visual checks of uploaded PDFs within a few seconds, calculating and delivering all textures for a hyper-realistic 3D model. Everything goes live to the frontend via websockets. There we will continue to optimise the parallelisability of all 
    processes.
  • We believe in cross-functional teams, so starting from Epics in Jira you will work with the engineering team 
    on the implementation/coordination of different microservices.
  • You will make strategic decisions with the Upcoming Services / Features team and balance between quick & dirty PoC, temporary workarounds and sustainable development
  • You work agilely and asynchronously in sprints, live the feedback culture directly via reviews in merge 
    requests and sprint reviews. You pay attention to code quality and introduce best practices.
  • We continue to expand our customer data platform (RudderStack, ClickHouse, Superset), which you extend with the help of Argo, DBT and common data/ML tools (SciPy, NumPy/ Jax, pyppeteer) by testing and rolling out ideas from the sales and marketing team, among others.
Your skills
  • A degree in computer science
  • Several years of practical experience as a backend developer in cooperation with frontend/ backend 
  • developers, POs and PMs
  • Fluent in English
  • Very good skills in Python (FastAPI, Django, Celery), GraphQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, (nice to have: ClickHouse)
  • You test/check your development with Pytest, Mypy, Flake8 and have experience to run the tests 
  • automatically with CI/CD jobs
  • You love perfect clean code, which drives you to sustainably advance the foundations of our backend 
  • landscape
  • You love open source and sharing your knowledge and successes

Als Senior Backend Developer (m/w/d) arbeitest du in unserem cross-functional Team an der Entwicklung professioneller Webanwendungen in unserem Onlineshop und unserem Operation Service.
  
Als Teil der Siegwerk-Gruppe baust du auf ein stabiles Fundament eines globalen Players mit 180 Jahren Verpackungs-Know-How.
Your Challenges
  • Du hast die riesen Chance, mit dem Engineering Team, bestehend aus Frontend, Backend und DevOps Engineers, das neue Storefront from Scratch zu planen und zu entwickeln. Kein blabla, sondern React, Next.js, MUI, Packiro Component Design System, Hasura als GraphQL API Layer, Ecommerce Core/Dashboard by Saleor (we <3 python, weil immer nur ein Schritt entfernt von ML).
  • Dieses Jahr haben wir den weltweit einzigartigen Artwork Service entwickelt, welcher innerhalb von ein paar Sekunden technische und visuelle Checks von hochgeladenen PDFs durchführt und dabei alle Texturen für ein hyper-realistisches 3D Modell berechnet und ausliefert. Alles geht via Websockets live an das Frontend. Dort werden wir weiter die Parallelisierbarkeit aller Prozesse optimieren.
  • Wir glauben an Cross-Functional Teams, sodass du ausgehend von Epics in GitLab mit dem Engineering Team an der Implementation/Koordination verschiedener Microservices hinweg arbeitest.
  • Du triffst mit dem Team für Upcoming Services / Features strategische Entscheidungen und balancierst zwischen Quick & Dirty PoC, temporären Workarounds und nachhaltiger Entwicklung.
  • Du arbeitest agil und asynchron in Sprints, lebst die Feedback Culture direkt über Reviews in Merge Requests und Sprint Reviews. Du achtest auf Code Quality und führst Best Practices ein.

Your Skills
  • Ein abgeschlossenes Studium in Informatik 
  • Mehrjährige praktische Erfahrung als Backend Entwickler in Zusammenarbeit mit Frontend/Backend Entwicklern, POs und PMs
  • Verhandlungssicher in Englisch und Deutsch 
  • Sehr gute Skills in Python (FastAPI, Django, Celery), GraphQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, (nice to have: ClickHouse)
  • Du testest/checkst deine Entwicklung mit Pytest, Mypy, Flake8 und hast Erfahrung gesammelt, die Tests automatisch mit CI/CD jobs auszuführen
  • Du liebst perfect, was dich dazu bringt, die Fundamente unserer Backend Landschaft nachhaltig voranzutreiben
  • Du liebst open source und teilst dein Wissen und deine Erfolge
